However, with the introduction of Unreal Engine 5, the DoF behavior has been updated — it now affects both distant and close-up objects. The new system requires you to set a focal point, and anything outside that focus zone is rendered with blur. This can create frustrating scenarios, especially when objects near the camera are unintentionally blurred, making gameplay difficult or even impossible.
