what photogrammetry software is compatible with UE?

What photogrammetry software is compatible with UE? Doesnt have to be free. Not much previous experience with photogrammetry, but lots with taking pictures with DSLR cameras and editing those.

Trying to make a realistic landscape for a VR installation and testing out photogrammetry as one possibility.

Thanks!

Hello. I think any.
All photogrametry software I know (Reality capture, metashape, meshroom…) let you export the 3D model in the format you want, .OBJ and .FBX are the most used for UE4 so you can use any software.
If your software for example only let you export in .STL you could convert with Blender (3D free software) so no problem.

Another thing is the setting up propperly for ue4 (texture number, texture sizes, number of faces…) but It’ll be easy you’ll see.

Good luck!

Thanks so much! Then which would you go for? I’d like to avoid converting with Blender. I’m used to working with Fusion360 and have a little bit experience with 3DStudioMax, have used Photoshop a lot and other Adobe suite programs. Any other beginner tips?

I personally only have experience with Reality Capture (in combination with Unreal and VR), it has some tools that allow you to reduce the polycount automatically and reproject the textures so they’re more performant for VR. Must be said that it’s a paid software although there’s also a pay per input license. I personally haven’t tried some of the free alternatives.

Super, thanks a lot!

Yeah, Reality Capture is awesome and cheap
