What are the benefits of using Seamless Travel?

I know there are some different objects that persist during Seamless Travel, but from what I can tell, all of the variables are reset anyhow (except in the game instances). It also creates some challenges on firing login, init/ begin play events since the Game Mode doesn’t actually do those things on Seamless Travel. The result is me storing information in Game Instances and then having to retrieve it. So, what’s the point? the transition map?
