Welcome to the world of Hounded

Hi, I’m Calvin from IMPRNT STUDIOS and we are currently hard at work on our first independent title, HOUNDED!

HOUNDED, is a third person dog adventure game , set in a British Isles inspired- Flintlock Fantasy world that has been gripped by tyranny.

You play as Duke , a determined young Border Collie who is searching for their lost master, the leader of The Rebellion.

Hounded by a cunning hunter, can you track the scent, unearth the mysterious power of The Tide, and claw your way home?

On your journey, you will explore mystical forests and ruins, wander through cosy hamlets, traverse the mysterious shires and use your senses to decipher the technology of the world- brought to life with the power of Unreal Engine 5 and its proprietary features such as Nanite and Lumen.

Walkies

Immersing you in the experience of being a dog is a priority for us. Whilst only a first pass, we’ve focused on making Duke’s fur to react believably to his every movement. Using the Grooms hair system, we’re able to create fur that moves dynamically, breathing even more life into our canine protagonist.

This is an early demo of our movement system showcasing our intentions for Duke’s movement as well as first iterations of game features, such as our scent-based game-play. This was done using marketplace assets which have since been completely rebuilt for our specific protagonist.

The team are all currently working on a vertical slice with the aim of it being used to garner interest from prospective funding partners. Please comment with any questions or messages you have about HOUNDED, and follow us on our social channels below to stay updated on our progress!

First, welcome to the Unreal Engine forums. Always so nice to see a new face around here. Secondly, the flopping ears as Duke walks had me sold immediately. The cutest feature I’ve seen in such a long time :joy: The demo especially showcased such a great level of charm with Dukes movement. Do you have any estimated date for a gameplay trailer?

Hey @PresumptivePanda , thank you for the warm welcome - I have always been a serial lurker on my private account!

We knew we needed Duke’s character to come across with his motion and dog ears are so expressive we had to lean into it!
We are working on a vertical slice right now and that will be available for viewing at the start of next year, but we will provide updates here as we progress!
