Welcome! Introduce yourself!

Hail and well met goode peoples!

Hi I’m Merry, and I thought I’d finally stick my toes in the water and wade around in the Epic pool with my fellows. I’ve been working in UE4 for about 6 months now and my skills have gone about as far as I should go without criticism. Probably a rough time to be starting a new studio/business but here we go!

I’d like to invite you all to please take a look at my work and let me know what you think. And if one of you fine individuals has any advice please do give me any advice, criticisms or critiques you may have. And for the like-minded, where should I be hanging out? I figure there’s a board or site where I should focus my posts and attention?

Anywho, thanks for your attention and fare thee well.

Merry Prankster

Hello All,
I am Girish from India. I am working in the industry as a CG lighting artist for more than 10 years. Exploring Unreal now for the pipeline, hope to learn lots of things and meet awesome people in this forum.

Hello everyone. I’ve been dabbling in 3D games and animated shorts for about a decade. Off and on from BGE to UDK to Unreal to Unity to Godot. About 5 years ago I shifted to also looking to do animated shorts as well. Been going through Blender of course, but also now seriously looking at Unreal in the pipeline for the real-time graphics. Will still use Blender for assets, animations, characters…etc. But looking to render with Unreal.

Nothing to show yet, but hopefully soon!

Hi all,
I come from the opposite end of the spectrum as I am a musician/songwriter.
I release original material and my work can be heard on TV as well.
I recently got involved in Unreal Engine to combine with my video editing skills to create short films that I can score and do sound design for.
Unreal is an extraordinary platform and to be honest pretty overwhelming! Hoping to learn a lot here!

Hello Everyone, I am Ishan Vohra, an Computer Science engineering student and amateur game developer. I recently took on a challenge to see if we could make a whole movie in Unreal Engine 4. After 5-6 hours of playing with Megascan Library, Mixamo and UE4’s sequencer. I came up with this. Watch the video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEncbR8FGKA

Hi everyone. I’m Nicholas Boughen. I’ve been a artist, cg sup and sup for 20 years. I run a school cg-masters.com and we are experimentally implementing unreal into our render pipeline. I’m a cg generalist but spent the last decade as a lighting specialist. I’m currently cramming to learn Unreal. The renderer is crazy amazing. Makes me feel like the tools I’ve been using are ancient and obsolete. I do have many questions and will be asking them as I come across them, I hope you will bear with me. I am seeing I have to rethink many things when considering a real-time renderer. I look forward to reading through this forum to see what others have come up against and discovered.

Hi all.
Im Craig Clarke and I started using Unreal a few months ago with the hope of implementing it into our pipeline.
Ive been in the film industry since 2008 where I started at weta digital on the first Avatar film. I left NZ in 2018 to move to Vancouver, then Montreal where we are currently based.
I’ve falling in love with Unreal, though at times its a love hate relationship:) I love working in real time and seeing instant results whether crap or, just ok.
Heaps to learn and hoping to make Unreal my primary software package for the future.
I specialize in layout/previs and environments which is why I love Unreal so much. I love making exterior epic environments. The material editor is very challenging but I see the power in it, and hoping peeps can point me in the right direction if needed.
Cheers all.

Hi all! I’m Martin, I currently work in feature film visualisation in the UK, my credits include No Time To Die, 1917, Hobbs & Shaw, Aladdin and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I’m just beginning my Unreal journey, having spent most of my working days the last couple of weeks in it. Really enjoying it, and I’m going to use it to create my own films in and around my other work.

Kind regards

Martin

With that being said I’ve been working in Unreal for a couple months now getting a grasp on things. I mostly want to use it to create cinemaitcs, and with all the leaps Epic has done in UE for virtual production I really wanted to get a taste of that, but this software is BIG, there’s so much to unpack, so it’s nice to know there’s a community of people all trying to pick each other up to help each other out. That makes me really happy, and really greatful to be here. I’m excited to learn and share.
