Hi everyone,
I’m Michael, a Director of Photography based in Cologne, Germany. My background is in traditional cinematography, but over the past few years I’ve moved increasingly into virtual production — I currently work as a camera operator at a studio specializing in real-time virtual production with Unreal Engine, Zero Density Reality Hub, and robotic camera systems.
My day-to-day involves a greenscreen studio where all backgrounds are generated in real-time by four render engines running Unreal Engine 5.7, orchestrated by Reality Hub. Beyond operating the studio, I build and optimize 3D environments in Unreal Engine and Blender.
I’m not a developer by trade, but I’ve picked up a lot along the way out of necessity. I joined the forum because I ran into a specific PCG + nDisplay issue in our virtual production context that I couldn’t find documented anywhere — so I figured this is the right place to ask, and hopefully contribute back when I find solutions others might benefit from.
