Weird looking Deformed Static Mesh / Deformed Object

Hello,

The static mesh I imported looks fine in UEFN but weird inside Fortnite.

It’s supposed to look like a large city tower.

But the shape of the mesh is deformed, from any distance.

I’ve tried fixes I found online for similair issues, and none of them worked.

  1. Reinstalled UEFN and Fortnite.
  2. Tried different graphics settings such as DirectX 11 and 12.
  3. Reduced Number of LODS to just 1 (also tried many other LOD settings)
  4. Enabled streaming (and then turned it back off)
  5. Reimported the Static Mesh.
  6. Freshly Imported as new Filename using the “Import” option instead of “Import All”

I am not sure if this is a UEFN bug or if it’s just an Issue on my end. Probably the latter.

The mesh used to look normal before, about 8 days ago. And I never changed anything about it.

I appreciate any help and Ideas to get this to work.

It looks like it’s stuck on the most distant LOD. The polygon decimation is at max values.

I’ve tried the following and the issue persists.

Tried different Reduction Settings
Tried different Distance Field Resolutions
Enabled Auto Compute Distances
Tried different Quality Levels

Is these the type of changes, you suggest?

I’ve also reverted back to an old snapshot from when it used to work, and found the same issue in that previous version. I think the recent update, might have caused this.

ISSUE FIXED: Turned on Nanite Virtualized Geometry in the graphics settings and it worked again.

Where do I go to enable Nanite Virtualized Geometry?

You enable Virtualized Geometry in the Graphics Quality Settings of the Fortnite Launcher.

So in-game, not inside UEFN.
