Using world comp, 4 tiles, seamlessly sewn together has been for months. Possibly never noticed, I have a grid of 4ties,1 2 3 & 4 crosswise going from 1.
Walking ,testing level, in tile 3 walking towads a speific terrain feature ,and suddently no lights, all black, and under levels tab, tile 2 become greyed out,so the light from tile 2 as I get futher away turns off( streams ?) and all lights out ?
That make no sense, given light is all dynmaic and cover all 4 tile nicely.
Additionally, say I start walking in tile 2( right next to 1),and if I’mtoo far away from 1, all I can see are meshes in mid air as terrain in that tile area are gone, invisible.
I tried different streaming amounts and nadda…doesnt make sense it wouuld be a shadow issue.
I have ray tracing somewhere on , witihout a card that is capable, is that it ? Doubt it as I think that feature was pre-ray tracking with hardware.
Any ideas ? o_0
Thx
Are the lights in level2?
Ty for reply really appreciate as I try to figure this out,not sure they were–I didn’t grasp the gravity of how I was working, as I’ve been deeply engaged in sculpting a very complex world ( dont want to use WM type thing, though now l3dt PRO is FREE)SO I fixed levelbounds by turning them off, resizing so world comp viewer looks 'halfway right ", so watched a video about streaming, given I have a 4tiled streaming world( non blueprint atm), so I carefully enabled one tile and placed lights, removing all other to start over.
Character started falling through all of a sudden ( what ?), then I got lights setup in Each tile , enablilng that specific tile as I went,No more falling through, but still several dark areas…
This is semi complex stuff but I’m fully engaged thx to youtube WC video I saw…OVER DUE, but hey…
So now I have NO idea if the steaming is fixed bc I’m struggling to get lightsON even though I have at least ONE light in each area, being careful with placement that is showing above terrain very close to center,SO now that my head is on straight, seemingly as relatse to streaming…I have 3 tile in no streaming as I hate pop in ,could that be causing he darkness in any way ? shouldn’t as each tile has its own light
HM does placement matter ? If each light is in center, then until character gets to center of given tile, it will be dark
Seems nuts it would work that way, anyway–fix one thing, everything falls apart ;-0
Put the lights in the persistent level, that way you can iron out streaming problems…
I deleted all current lights, and created one new light in main tile ( one I started out with),and while that tile, and its light is fine and collision is fine, the other 3 tiles have no working collision, and I cheked by making those tile(s) current individually, reset collision, still falling through on all 3.
Makes no sense.
Weird, but sounds like a bit of a complex setup…
Well its only 4 tiles, extremely heavy sculpting, few lights, and other typical things, several stairs, transparent objects, nothing elaborate past that, too new for that, but that is coming in few days after some tuts needed for those added objects etc. Nothing like a 400 sq mi world comp, but its getting there lol
