Last few months i’ve posted a thread regarding S7 Edge Android 7.0 Beta which i believe Unreal Engine is not supported yet that time and causes crash. Now there’s already official release of the software update of 7.0 Nougat on S7 Edge, but it seems still crashed.
I package my project in ES2 or ES3.1 is working okay, although in ES3.1 has some rendering issue, but it’s workable, if i enable Vulkan for packaging, it crashed once open my entry level map. Please check and log and advise, Thanks.
I’ve do a test on a third person project. I’ve tried to specify NDK API Level to android-24, SDK API Level to matchndk. Updated all SDK to latest using SDK Manager as well as the Choose.exe in .
I’m on the official version of 7.0.0 and I am not running into a crash. I’m working on a Nexus 9. I enabled Vulkan, packaged using ASTC and installed the app on the device. Could you please try with a released version of the OS?
Ours is currently on Android 6.0 instead of 7.0 for QA purposes.
Are you working on a source or binary version of the engine? Is the project code or blueprint? I am not verifying this issue on a binary blueprint project and not seeing this issue happen on Android 7.0 (Nexus 9).
Hi , is there any devices of S7, or S7 Edge with latest Android 7.0 installed to be test out? As S7 is quite consider a wide use device now… I’m workign on the binary version of the engine, it’s blueprint based. I tried a few times always got the VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST
I have tested this issue on 3 different devices. It’s found to be an issue with the hardware of the S7 . [UE-42759][1] has been entered for this issue.
Dear , just a quick question is it a problem of Android 7.0 GPU problem or? Is previous version of Android workable? How about the latest G-71 on some new devices? As I have a Huawei Mate 9 with -G71 seems to have the same issue, On Android 7.0 as well. Thanks-
At this time, all we know is that it’s occurring on the “ARM -T880 MP12” aka the Samsung S7 Edge and S7 Edge . I was unable to locate a device in-house that was -G71.
If you have logs to provide from a -G71 device, please upload those and I can include them with the .
