VR Preview Performance reduced by Geforce Overlay

I discovered that having Nvidia’s Geforce Experience In-Game Overlay enabled considerably reduces frame rate in Unreal’s VR Preview (VR play in editor). Now that I know this it is easy for me to resolve this issue by turning off the Geforce Overlay, however It took me a while to track this issue down and I imagine it could be affecting other people.

Isn’t this only the case when the overlay is actually opened?

When it’s closed it shouldn’t be a problem I thought.

It was an issue for me even when the overlay was closed.

Thank you for the solution, I had 3-7 FPS with Oculus Rift on GTX1080. The VIVE was running at 90 FPS.
