VR Preview freezes and lags unless put in the background

I’m experiencing a strange issue where for a basic VR template project, if you click on VR preview, a new standalone window will popup and everything will be extremely laggy inside the headset.

The strange thing is, if I move this Preview standalone window to the background, that is, I bring any other window to the foreground, lag goes away up and I’m able to test the VR app fine.

I’m using windows 11 and a 12900k proc.

I am encountering the same issue in Unreal 4.27. I can confirm that it happens also with an executable version of the application.

I am experiencing the same issue, does anyone know the cause of it/ how to fix it?
