VR for RIFT Question #vr

Hi everyone.
I have doubts and can’t find answers on the forums on the internet.

I am making a VR application that will be running on a PC with Rift/Oculus Link.
I am using the VR template as a starter. I am using UE 4.27.2
My question:
Can I enable RayTracing and use Lightmass GPU for the bake and then when cooking disable RayTracing? At the same time staying with Forward Shading?
The final application should not use RayTracing, but I’m thinking of using it in the development process.

Is this a very bad idea? I come from Architecture so i am used to RT/GPU Lightmass.
