Volumetric lighting problem

I am using exponential fog and a spot light. I seem to get flickering and jagged lighting near the source when i reduce the outer cone size. Is there a way to fix this? I attached a screen shot to this post.

its running out of voxel resolution near the source because it’s so thin, haven’t played with vol fog in a while, i moved onto nvidia’s volumetric lighting as it just has more control over it.
im sure theres a setting to increase the resolution somewhere, so start looking into that
