Volumetric fog spotlights dissapearing in distance

Hello all. I’m using UE4 for animation production. I need to fake god rays in specific sections of a landscape as it is very cloudy, so I’m using spotlights for it. Problem is, up close they look fine, but as they get further away from the camera they dissapear. Why and how can I fix this?

I checked the volumetric fog in and exponential height fog and tweaked the settings along with the inscattering intensity of the spotlightst to do so.
