Volumetric Fog Rendering with Hard Edges in Unreal 4.27.2


As illustrated by the 2 attached images, I am seeing a big difference in the crispness of volumetric fog edges between the viewport and a high-res still render. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can achieve softer edges in the fog in the actual render? Thank you!

Try lowering the extinction scale?
