Volumetric fog and spot light

Hello,

I’m having a problem with an interior light using a spot light.

I’m using it to emulate moonlight, I’ve configured a stationary spot light by increasing the volumetric scattering intensity, I’ve placed the exponential height fog, a lightmass importance volume as well as Ligtmass portals to concentrate the passage of photos through the 2 openings that act as windows.

The resultalt isn’t very good: you can’t see the light passing through, as the screens show. Another strange point is that the volumetric samples are not concentrated at all in my lightmass volume, but all around it. In the screen we cannot cleary see the volumetric sample as they are black but they are all around the important part.

Any idea ? Thanks you

the lightmass importance volume and the portals do nothing. they are only used for light baking into lightmaps.

to get volumetric shadows you gotta enable well… volumetric shadows in the light parameters.

i had inconsistent results in a showcase a couple days ago. in case the shadows don’t show up on the spot light you could use a directional light to represent the moon and it should do the trick.

Hello, can you try add SkyLight component and build the lightning?
