Visual Studio 2022 update 17.13 is insanely broken now

so yesterday the february 13th 2025 i updated visual studio as i always do when there is a update…after updating visual studio i have about a 10 - 15 second delay in being able to do anything in visual studio only when using with unreal engine…it was working fine yesterday morning until i updated and now its unusable…i have rolled back the update uninstalled visual studio…unreal engine and even did a fresh install of windows…but i still get a massive delay…when i click 2 or 3 times on the screen to try and type a line of code it will flash white saying visual studio is not responding…usually when you hover your mouse over a .h or .cpp file it will highlight where your mouse is…but with such a massive delay im unable to do anything…my specs are intel 10850k…RTX 2080Ti…32 GB ram…i no its not my specs cuz ive had no issues with visual studio untill yesterday…i have wiped my pc clean all my work for the past 3 years to try and resolve this and i cannot get it to run properly…i dunno if anyone has had this issue and knows what to do.

Hi,

I also did have this terrible experience with 17.13, so the solution was downgrade to 17.12 which has fixed the problem.

if you look link bellow, we are not alone with this issue.

Visual Studio Constantly Freezing and Can’t Find Visual Studio Integration Tool Plugin for 5.5

Bye.

After updating Visual Studio, it automatically set UE5 as the startup project, causing the UI to enter an unresponsive loop for some reason.
I navigated the laggy UI to Solution Explorer → right-click my project name → select “Set as Startup Project” which seemed to fix the issue for me.
I have no idea what actually happened though.

I had to roll back, still had unresponsive loop until I followed fasteric100 advice. So far so good.

They made forced rollback of this update. Everything is working as before.
