So I have the latest updates to both Unreal Engine 5.5 and Visual Studio 2022. I chose the set up in Visual Studio to have the Unreal Engine tools included. In Unreal Engine Visual Studio Integration plugin is selected. Visual Studio still says it needs the Visual Studio Integration for Unreal Engine even though it is installed.
Yet, Visual Studio freezes constantly so unusable. Then I saw something about needing to get the Visual Studio Integration Tool plugin (not just the Visual Studio Integration plugin). Yet, I can’t find it anywhere. I checked in the Epic Games launcher and I wasn’t able to find it. It doesn’t show up as a plugin in the Engine plugin list in the editor.
Do you know where I can find the Visual Studio Integration Tool plugin? Any ideas on why Visual Studio is freezing so much that it is unusable for Unreal Engine? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
To install Visual Studio Integration Tool plugin is simple, just open your project’s Config Tools, update it (1), check if it’s not installed, if not go ahead and install (2).
If you can’t see this windows, go to the menu Project > Configure tools for Unreal Engine.
Look, same as yours, my visual studios 2022 was freezing a lot, and the problem was the last update, I’m mean, it was working fine, but after I updated to 17.13 it was frustrating me, so I just downgraded to 17.12 and everything get back to normal.
Can confirm, it’s constantly freezing. You get about 2 seconds of UI responsiveness every 10 seconds. In other words completely unusable. This is after deleting the .vs folder and regenerating the solution, by the way.
