Virtual Textures and Linux, shading problem

hey people. I’m trying to run Editor on Linux Mint, but I’ve encountered an issue for which I can’t seem to find solution. I’ve tried googling around but no luck.

I’ve downloaded UE 5.4 for linux yesterday and copied a project I made in windows that uses virtual textures in materials. in windows everything works as it should, no problem there. but, as you can see in screenshots, I get weird shading in Linux. that is, the colors turn to flat average when further away from camera. up close (and I mean really close) material shows as it should be.

I’ve come to conclusion that it has something to do with virtual textures. if I turn them off, then materials are fine. but, is the problem with virtual texture streaming, NVIDIA drivers for linux, Vulkan renderer, bug in UE 5.4 for linux, something else…? has anyone encountered something similar, or has some ideas I could try?

thx in advance! cheers!
