Viewport is artifacting when refreshing skybox

Hi everyone,

When I refresh the Sky Sphere material, the viewport gets some artifacts that look like Ï’m applying a sharpen filter. See video:IMG_2848 - YouTube . This is me recording my screen with my phone btw.

Admittedly, I’m not using UE4 like most people who know Blueprints and such, and have a day/night cycle where I set my light rotation on keyframes to trigger the sun/material change. I am doing a  Refresh Material on the Sky Sphere instead of having it update automatically. I’m sure there’s a way to do this, but I looked into it, and due to me not knowing how to use Blueprints, I can’t implement them in time for my deadline. (thought if there’s an easy way, let me know!). I’m hoping to just render out my sequence, which is 27 minutes long, to a MOV. My backup plan is to use some sort of noise to hide this artifacting. Before I do this though, maybe there’s a way.

The scene is quite high-poly, with lots of heavy landscape models that are duplicated. Not too much texture memory being used, and lots of geometry cache animations. The scene runs well, not at 60fps but ok so far. I haven’t done any optimization yet.

Thanks!
