viewport hair raytracing geometry - groom console commands

Hello,
My scene is groom heavy and I use hair raytracing geometry.
With millions of hairs, the scene takes up most of my VRAM. Thats acceptable for movie render queue, but not in the viewport.
For example, I sometimes just want to see if my animation overlaps objects or not, to debug it - but the 100 frames are extremly laggy in viewport. I would like to turn off “use hair raytracing geometry”, or even entirely turn off groom in the viewport, if necessary.

How would you work on this?
Option a): Using the editing matrix and turn off the option in all groom hairs seems quite fiddly. Since more and more characters can be added to my scene and I may simply forget to turn it on for MRQ at a certain point.
Are there console commands to disable it in the viewport? I did not find any.

This is a very common issue when working with groom-heavy scenes, especially using hair raytracing geometry. You’re right — while it works fine for Movie Render Queue (MRQ), it can seriously impact viewport performance during animation debugging.

Is it possible, that ray tracing geometry is enabled by default in MRQ, just with the “game overrides” ? I just checked and turned off this feature on the groom asset/Bp. no difference in MRQ?
