View Keeps Snapping Back to World Centre

This hasn’t been an issue until I updated to 5.7.4

My view port keeps snapping back to the center of my world. Every time I reopen my project or randomly when I’m making changes to a blueprint or model settings. It is not saving my view camera position/location and keeps putting it back to 0,0,0 world coordinates.

This is annoying because it’s a huge waste of time putting my camera back to what I was working on multiple times while I’m in the middle of editing something. I don’t know of a setting to fix this and it has never happened before updating the editor.

Also when are they going to fix this bug? The FOV in play mode is broken and has been broken for multiple versions now. I just assumed it was a bad setting except that it wasn’t my setting.

Hello there @EN6A6E!

That’s quite a strange glitch you are getting. Looking around the community, I couldn’t find anything similar affecting other users. Tried updating an old project to 5.7.4, but did not encounter any camera snap.

One thing to test though, the usual for most post-update issues, is to clear up your affected project’s cache, to remove any stale data that could be causing this. To do so, go to your project’s main directory, and delete folders Intermediate and Saved, then re-open the engine.

As for any settings to check, just make sure that “Use Camera Location from Play-In-Viewport” is enabled in your project’s Viewport settings. If it’s off, it could cause the project to restore an unexpected camera position after closing/restarting.

I just tried clearing those folders. I had already checked the camera position setting the other day when I was trying to figure it out. It was always on.

Thanks
