Summary

VFX powerup - “persist on elimination” settings not working
VFX pickup works fine, but once players die, the effect disappears.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. create VFX powerup - for head socket (not sure if that part is important)
  2. pick it up in game
  3. get your character eliminated
  4. see result (it disappears for me)

Observed Result

VFX would disappeared after elimination, even with the “persist on elimination” setting on

Additional Notes

Island code is not important, but you can test it in that map by picking the “unreal crown” and see what happens, then testing on your own project.

You forgot to upvote your bug report.

As a workaround, you could reapply the effect on respawn when needed.

That might cause issues with checkpoints etc, I also want it connected to abilities, so I just need that setting to work.

The status of FORT-741430 incident has been moved from ‘In Testing’ to ‘Closed’. Resolution Reason: ‘Fixed’

This is kind of crucial function for my game mechanics to work, anybody knows how long does fixing something like this usually take?

This still seems to be an issue.

Has there been any update to this yet? This bug is hindering client work that I need to be done with already :pensive:

Same for me, I have a client project I can’t complete because of this bug. @Flak has there been any new progress made with fixing this?

As of 30.20 this is an issue. The workaround is to reapply the powerup. Simple, but should be unneeded.

it seems like this is still happening, but only for custom effects. the built-in effects in the vfx powerup device do persist
