Summary
I published an updated version of my map and all of the Verse persistence progress disappeared. I’m not 100% certain that this happened during the publishing, but that’s the only change I have made on my end. It wasn’t until the next morning that I even noticed.
Also one of the devices did keep it’s settings. It was a class selector that was set up to allow the admin to fly around during testing, so not something that would affect normal players.
There were no changes to my persistence code in Verse during this update.
One weird thing that happened during publishing is that the window that pop ups after pressing “Create Release” gave me the “Memory Usage” error because I forgot to run a memory calculation. After running the calculation and coming back the “Verse Persistence Compatibility check” happened instantly instead of taking it’s usual several minutes. This may be normal but seems kind of odd because I was technically trying to upload a different private island at this point.
Everything else seems fine. The correct updated version of the map is live and saves progress as it should, just with player progress wiped.
Thank you,
