Variable cascaded shadows?

Hello, is it possible to have sharp cascaded shadows on some objects, but not on others? My objects lack proper self shadows when lowering the shadow resolution, but my foliage becomes way too sharp and defined with high resolution shadows. Any ideas?

Could create a separate mesh as a shadow casting mesh. Have it be thicker so shadows have less artifacts. Make the asset a blueprint, have the visible mesh not cast shadows and have the shadow casting mesh be hidden but cast shadows.
