Using Lighting Scalability Manager with different lighting setups in a single map

Hey there,
so I want to optimize our Fortnite Map.

We have different lighting settings for different areas of map.

  • Night
  • Daytime
  • Underground
  • Goldenhour

and so on.

So currently we are using the day sequence device with their volumes to do that.
Unfortunately it seems that these devices arent working with Lighting Scalability Manager.

We have sreplicated the settings of the DSD for the areas using actors that contain

  • Sky Atmosphere
  • Skylight
  • Directional Light
  • Exponential Height Fog

and we added the parent actors to the Lighting Scalability Manager to manage the different lighting for the different scaleability settings.

However.. Whats now best practice to make sure the different lighting setups are only shown in the different areas? Before we had the Volumes of the Day Sequence Device. But now these different components (fog, skylight etc.) dont have volumes?

Do we have to use a cinematic sequence device to enable/disable the different lighting for the different areas for the individual player when entering the areas?

Hi there @AscendantForge

I made a small video tutorial for you. Happy to answer any follow up questions if needed:
