I currently have a project where i have a lion that is using groom to add on the fur for the mane and whiskers. If i render out my animation using MRQ and a Cinecamera then the fur and hair looks perfect. As soon as i view it through the nDisplay or try and render it through MRQ and nDisplay rendering the quality of the hair drops significantly, is there a reason for this or a way i can get around this. The reason I am using nDisplay as this is for a large corner screen so i need the animation ‘projected’ onto the screen from a certain perspective. Any suggestions?
The top is the export from the nDisplay, the bottom is an export through the cine camera. Can anyone explain why the groom suddenly drops quality when using the ndisplay export settings
Hello. I have the same problem as you. I think the thickness of the hair is being ignored when rendering.
Here’s what I tried
-Set the thickness of HairTips etc. on the BP Groom component
-Execute the commands in [RESOLVED] Metahuman Hair renders on top of translucent materials - #5 by Ant_tekk with Execute Command
“r.HairStrands.ComposeAfterTranslucency - 0”
-Turn off Lumen
…It seems to have improved a little, but I’ll let you know that it has almost no effect.
This is a comparison of NDC_Bacis’s ViewPoint at different distances from the monitor.
It seems that a system like LOD is involved in this problem to some extent.
There is a clear difference in the quality of the hair depending on the distance.
Is this all with the groom locked to LOD0? You can get visual LOD issues with long lenses since it’s technically farther away from the camera than it appears in 3D space.
