Using custom noise material to change height data

Hi!
(new to UE4)

How would you go about using a custom noise, generated with a material, to then affect the level height data of a landmass? I’ve been able to generate a noise pattern with a material but when trying to connect it to a custom landscape brush it does not work. Is there a specific setup that materials that are supposed to be used as height data need to abide by?
