[URGENT] Oculus works "Direct" on one machine, but not any other, stays orange.

Hey Guys,

This is V.urgent! Basically the rift works fine on the development Machine, no problems at all. HOwever when i load the compiled version on another computer, with the same drivers installed, and hit Alt-Enter it goes into the Stereo mode but doesn’t push to the rift. IT stays with orange light. It’s infuriating! Does the same on two machines. One of which is a fresh install. Tried other demos, they work fine! LIterally just this one :C

Hi TheGummyBear,

Is this on Windows or OS X? Have you tried running any Oculus demo apps to verify that the Oculus is being detected correctly by your computer?

One thing that consistently worked for me on Windows when the Oculus wasn’t being detected was going into the Windows display settings, changing the displays to be mirrored, and then changing it back to be extended. When you go back to the extended mode, your Oculus will hopefully be detected and you should see that sweet, sweet blue light.

Hey,

Windows (7). The oculus deom apps work fine it’s just ue4 demos for some reason. I managed to fix it on on machine by updating the gpu drivers and just testing it on the second now. It’s all detected but ineed to run it with the direct to hmd mode unfortuneatley (output will be shown on big tvs around!)

Hopefully the driver updates fix it

Try installing the following Windows updates:

Not sure if this will help you but on my gtx 970 i have different results when i use a dvi to hdmi adapter, or plug it in hdmi direct. Im speculating that you have different computers, the screen detection can come in play giving other results.

The gpu drivers sorted the issue for me
