Urgent issue with project size stopping me from doing new update

Summary

I have been working on a map for some time and have published and its had a slow steady increase in players. Having spent the past 2 weeks on updates i am due to publish tomorrow. I thought i would test performance by running a test from uefn to my Xbox. When i did this the project size went from around 64% to 126% i have since gone back onto the uefn on my pc and the project size is the same. I cannot publish the update now and need some urgent assistance if possible

Additional Notes

i will attach a image but the main thing is the Level. It wasn’t like this before and i am unsure how to fix this without help from Epic

When i push changes it says upload size is 475mb not sure if its got any relevance

I managed to get a snapshot so ive wasted 5 hours but its better than nothing. Please see image of what it is now. Something is drastically wrong. Upload size was 45mb aswell

Did you make a snapshot of your 126% project ?
You can open your snapshot history and get a list of what changed in each snapshot, it could give a clue.

Thats a massive jump in level size, like 9 times bigger…

I did make a snapshot as i wasn’t sure if Epic needed any info.

The size of the snapshot for the false memory is 486mib and the normal is 47mib

I cannot see a size assigned to anything rather a list of things so its difficult to determine what caused it or rather what changed

It was something with the level. Somehow is doubled just by starting a session on console.

If they is any logs ect that are required i will assist where i can as this could have been a major issue if i didnt have that snapshot. I only lost 5 hours work so its not the end of the world but it could have been alot worse

Just to add i did do the HLOD after the first snapshot so i can do that again save then send to console and see what things change  itll take some time but ill do it

Futher update

I cannot build HLODS now for some reason

I get this error

While trying to load package /Farm_v1/ExternalActors/Farm_v1/4/FR/SBTCU0WJ9XXDHMRL7N9UI2, a dependent package /Farm_v1/ExternalActors/Farm_v1/7/XT/AGP4DZL6K8KN2WKNHNJ3W5 was not available. Additional explanatory information follows:
FPackageName: Skipped package /Farm_v1/ExternalActors/Farm_v1/7/XT/AGP4DZL6K8KN2WKNHNJ3W5 has a valid, mounted, mount point but does not exist either on disk or in iostore. The uncooked file would be expected on disk at ‘C:/Users/USER/UEFN/Farm_v1/Plugins/Farm_v1/Content/ExternalActors/Farm_v1/7/XT/AGP4DZL6K8KN2WKNHNJ3W5.uasset’. Perhaps it has been deleted or was not synced?

I found another post and i believe it is the HLOD as this guy had the same issue. I dont understand when ive built before how it goes to the extreme of increasing the level to what it does

I have 2 projects that keep giving me validation issues because the HLOD layer seems to keep old data in it even if I use Delete HLODs from the Build HLODs menu
To get around this I’ve been deleting the HLOD layer from the Content Browser

Make a new HLOD layer, delete old HLOD layer, replace references to the new one, don’t save.
then build landscape, double click on Level in content browser, then build HLODs

i might give that a go sometime as when i click delete HLODS nothing actually happens but instead it starts building them. Very strange behavior

I think the issue with memory and the level was due to HLODS though

I did notice when i located the folder in the error they isn’t anything in it so when you delete the HLOD layer does it also delete all of them files ?

I don’t know…
but I assume deleting the HLOD layer only deletes the HLOD references to that folder,
but I also suspect the Build/DeleteHLODs doesn’t clear all the references to some deleted stuff
