G’day!
I am unsure how to properly upload my DJI flight logs to RC to enhance the accuracy of geo-referenced pictures.
The flight logs from my DJI smart controller export as an unreadable TXT. file. Using this website [DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help], I can extrapolate the data into a very full-on CSV. file. See below:
(Small extract from CSV file)
Now I can create a simple Excel script that will produce three columns of lon, lat & alt (m) [highlighted in green in the above pic], but there is no image file name in the flight logs? I would assume that the flight logs would record when an image is taken and its corresponding file name.
All in all, this could be the wrong method of uploading DJI flight logs. Has anyone discovered a useful method? Or am I close with this CSV method?
Thank you for reading
Hi, yes you are close but you will need the image name.
Yeah I’m unsure how to extract that from DJI’s flight logs.
From what I can see, it can’t be done from this csv file. Have you successfully uploaded DJI flight logs before?
There should not be any need to make a flightlog here as the GPS should be in the exif already
This is true.
I guess flight logs would not make a more accurate model then.
Using Map Wizard (or even aligning images normally), I will sometimes get multiple components. These other components may only have 1 - 5 cams/images in them while the main component will contain the bulk of the images.
Is the best way to avoid multiple components to have solid overlap (80%), Geo referenced images and Ground Points?
HI, basically yes. Those should help. But it will sometimes happen, that you don’t have all captured images in one component. If it is such small number, you don’t need to care about it.
