so I just upgraded from 4.2 to 4.3 and now everything has a mirror finish, i went from getting 60 fps to 20. can anyone help me get back to the default 4.2 settings?
Try deleting the DerivedDataCache folder from your project directory and restart the editor.
I’d imagine there is another one somewhere for the engine, I’m not sure where that would be though. Probably in User\AppData\Roaming\UnrealEngine or something like that. I don’t have a windows machine at the moment, but it’ll be something like that.
Looks like a couple of things: 1) 4.3 uses a lower- quality SSR solution by default, so to get the full glossiness you had before you’ll need to up the quality, ether through the ini files or the post process volume and 2) Is it still calculating the shaders for 4.3? that would explain the slow performance and the black/unshaded objects. For complex scenes, you may have to wait a pretty long time for the shaders to fully compile. Maybe even 3) Is your lighting built?

You Both are using a SKYLIGHT right?
Try to change the Skylight from STATIC to MOVABLE, and UNCKECK LOWER HEMISPHERE IS BLACK. Recapure Scene, and (is not dynamic light) change to STATIC again.
