Unreal recompiles when switching between project repositories, even if they are on the same branch

We use multiple repositories of our project on many workstations, in order to switch faster or even have multiple branches open in the editor at the same time, which used to work up until 5.6.

At least eversince we activated metahuman core tech in 5.6 and enabled all metahuman plugins, I cannot switch between the repositories any more without compiling around 400 files again which seem to be metahuman related (attached image), let alone opening both of them in editor at the same time, even if they are on the same branch so there should be literally nothing to recompile (after the first time opening each of them).

Thank you for reporting this problem - we have also observed this and so are able to reproduce it.

Unfortunately, we are still working to identify the root cause and so do not yet have a resolution or workaround that we can share.
