Unreal MCP is now available in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
This release of Unreal MCP ships with toolsets built specifically for UEFN, delivered through the same Toolset Registry that powers Unreal MCP in UE 5.8. Not all toolsets available in UE 5.8 are compatible with UEFN, but we’ll continue adding more UEFN features as we unify development streams on the road to UE6.
Unreal MCP in UEFN is in beta, so expect some rough edges and more capabilities on the way. Give it a spin, and let us know what you build and what you want agents to do next.
If you have feedback, please post it in this thread. For issues and bugs, please post in the Issues and Bug Reporting forums. Thank you!
Both MCPs, UEFN and UE, are very limited so far. The MCP editor control requires the user to take actions all the time to help in the process, and there are so many objects that can’t be created at all via MCP, so the AI has to stop and ask the user to create them manually. This is a major problem, making the MCP close to useless for a proper AI-assisted pipeline. In this case, I believe that Epic should take a look at the Unity MCP and do something like that from a completeness standpoint. What worries me is that nothing new has been added so far, so I’m not entirely sure if Epic is actually planning for a usable MCP to be delivered. Comments?
