Every time i try to create a project it prompts me to put a name. Whenever i put in a name it results in asking for me to get rid of ^ even when nothing is there it will prompt me to delete it. What do i do? Do I have to reinstall unreal 4 to get it to work or is there some kind of fix for this?
Hey ,
Which version of the Editor are you using? Also, could you please provide me a screenshot of the error including visibility to the name of the file that you’re trying to create? Please keep in mind that there can’t be spaces or special characters within the file naming conventions.
Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!
I am using the latest version any project I choose doesn’t work. And here is the link for the photo Imgur: The magic of the Internet
You need to go to that file path (usually its documents/unreal projects). You can then rename it from there.
Accually I just noticed you file is before the projects, oops. Um, try to find it and rename it?.?.
Hey ,
Do you see where your name is ‘^2’? That is the reason why you can’t create a project. Are you able to either change the name on your computer, or move your project to another hard that you may have?
Thank you!
Hey ,
I haven’t heard from you in quite a few days. For tracking purposes, I must close this thread at this time. However, if you’re still experiencing trouble with this issue, please do not hesitate to reply back to this thread so we can further assist you.
Cheers!
So its because of my username on my pc or the username on the the site?
Hey ,
Your username on your computer is causing trouble because of the ^ symbol. Unfortunately, UE4 doesn’t recognize special characters at this time. Can you change your username to just ‘Heated2’?
Thank you!
