Unreal Engine process has crashed

I have issues with UE4.27 where my project has crashed… I’m fairly new to UE and my computer can only handle 4.27 therefore using that version and not newer ones. This happened yesterday after I tried using the water plugin. This is the log:
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0xffffffffffffffff

I don’t know what to do… I’ve searched for some videos and I tried repairng the epic games but it didn’t work… I’ve put in so much time and effort into this project and I’m starting to loose hope due to some other threads…

If you open your project file with a text editor ( make a copy first ), you’ll see you can disabled plugins just by removing blocks of text

Try removing the water plugin that way…

I’m trying but the issue is that when I try to access the map with my project in it, it just keeps loading forever… It doesn’t want to open it up ://

Now that sounds like a problem with your drive…

Maybe try some hardware tests?

How do I do that?

Do you have an mechanical hard drive or SSD?

No idea, I have a MSI Laptop, let me see if I can check the specifications somewhere

Look in the task manager in the performance section

Unit Name MSI
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-1280P 2.00 GHz
Installed RAM-memory 16,0 GB (15,7 GB går att använda)
System type 64-bit operative system, x64 processor

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
CPU: Intel Core i7 (12th Gen) 1280P / 1.8 GHz

It’s in Swedish, but I think you’ll understand

Nope, wrong view ( my fault ), try this ( I’m just trying to find out if your drive is full )

Windows key → E ( and then click ‘this PC’ )

Nope it’s not! Maybe not much space left but there is some

Ok, then I would try a disk check. Just right click on that disk → properties → tools and

If that doesn’t work, there’s a more detailed way shown here ( but you’re own your own then  ). Be careful.

If you can’t access the folder in windows, there’s probably a hardware problem.

It might be good to get an IT person to look at it. Because if its hardware, it’s going to get worse, and you stand a good chance of it just happening again.

If windows is having a problem, it will write to the system log. If you hit the windows key and type ‘event viewer’, you can see the log in the system section
