Unreal Engine Preview or Full Version Installed?

Hey all,

I’m having issues installing - at least I think so. Maybe this is exactly how it works? I’m really not sure.

I downloaded and installed the Unreal Engine (“Get Unreal” button), and all that shows up is this…

I don’t know if this how it’s meant to be, or something has gone wrong. The fact that it says ‘not installed’ makes me wonder if there’s something more that needs to be done. I wanted to download the software so I could do renderings. Can anyone let me know how I can get that started?

I’m on an Acer laptop (bad specs to follow) which isn’t very good, but I’d imagine the program would at least install, even if it doesn’t work well:
AMD Quad-core Processor A4-5000 (1.5 GHz)
AMD Radeon HD 8330 with 512MB Graphics System Memory
6GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 8

Hope I can get some help from you guys! Thanks in advance

Hi renzor,

Once you install the Launcher, you will still need to install an engine version. If you are just starting out with UE4, I recommend version 4.7.6. Follow the instructions in this link to learn how to install it.

Cheers,

TJ

Hi TJ,

Thank you so much for your reply. The link was exactly what I needed, and I’ve successfully installed it. I have yet to try it out, so I’m assuming for now it’s not buggy.

Thanks again,

Renzor
