WHAT
Get ready to jam! In preparation for our Winter #ue4jam, Tom is going to discuss some best practices for quickly getting a game up and running. He’ll touch on some UE4 basics, show how to get your team using Perforce, SVN or GitHub, and demonstrate our new game jam toolkit. Finally, he’ll briefly cover wrapping up your game, testing it and getting it packaged up for distribution. The theme will be announced at the end of the livestream.
WHEN
Thursday, February 8th @ 2:00PM ET - Countdown
@glitchwitch_ you mean participate in the UE4 Jam? Its simple, after the Theme is being announced, you’re going to make a game with this theme in mind until the jam is over. (I don’t know the exact date right now.) You make the game you built (needs to be an ue4 based game) publicly available and after two weeks you’ll know if you won or not ^^. Game jams are usually a great learning “ressource”. Every time I participated, it not just gave me a good feeling of making a game, but also I’ve took a great lesson home by making it.
The timings are so unfair :P, I mean it will be almost midnight (1:30 AM) in India at the time of announcement !! Aww man !! I would have to be awake whole night just to find out “what the theme will be!”
I know I can sleep and in morning check the theme, but still I am hyped as this is my first jam ever
