Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost AGAIN AND AGAIN

same problem when I test my game, I try to install different pilote for my nvidia, I rebuild my project but nothing work.
the problem came randomly when I test.

the problem come also when change mesh in editor.

EDIT: found a solution for me. I change the texture filtering - quality in high perfomance.

A number of D3D crashes were resolved in 4.25.1. If you haven’t updated, it might solve some of the issues you’ve encountered. Let us know!

Can confirm I’m having this same crashes in editor (Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost) with 4.25.1
Updated nvidia drivers, set nvidia graphics card as default processor (I’m with a laptop with intel and nvidia graphics), getting the same crashes.

Got it solved.
As other said, I updated Intel graphics driver (I have a laptop with both intel and nvidia graphics card), and uninstalled geforce nvidia experience.

same d3d crashes all over the shop 4…25

Getting this on 4.25.1. Opened a project that was working just fine last week and now I’m getting this error window before it even launches.

UE4 GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed Use -d3ddebug to enable the D3D debug device Check log for GPU state information

I also got this problem with 4.25.1

For some reason my editor stops crashing when it is not in full screen mode 4.25.1

Worked for me, thanks!

I have the same problem when i try to play dead by daylight or any other unreal engine game…

Try some of the suggestions listed in this thread:

I quit using Nvidia ā€œgame driversā€ and started using Nvidia’s ā€œStudio driversā€. Crashes gone here.

WOW. This actuallyworked for me. Thanks dude! I can now use 4.25 on my laptop without crashing! If in fullscreen, it crashes within around 30 seconds of being opened. As soon as I move my mouse over the editor, everything start to ā€˜flicker’ then bam, it freezes, then crashes out! In ā€˜windowed mode’ it seems to work fine! Awesome!

I had exactly this error since 4.24. I updated to 4.24.1, .2, .3, 4.25, and now 4.25.1. I would see dozens of UE4 Editor crashes in a day - often while trying to save - and submitted logs of 50% of the crashes to Epic. Other than UE4, all other software seemed to work perfectly fine. It was driving me nuts and I almost quit using UE4. I’m using an NVIDIA Geforce 1660 with 6GB of RAM on Windows 10, at 1440 x 900 resolution.

Finally solved it with this:

Go to NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings.
Select

ue4editor.exe

, and change Antialiasing - FXAA to off.

I did this 2 weeks ago, and haven’t had a crash since.

I understand that FXAA increases memory usage, and it’s possible that some settings take memory beyond what’s available on your memory card. Alternatively, try turning off other features for the UE4 Editor from the NVIDIA Control Panel.

@DrAculaMD Thanks, it worked for me. Much relieved.

Also getting this error/crash - in my case it happens most of the time when I navigate to a folder containing a specific blueprint in the content browser. There’s nothing wrong with the BP itself, and if I modify it from within the level and then save it, very often the crash goes away when I navigate back to the containing folder.Very confusing/frustrating.

I dont play games, i just do cinematic, i dont have a good computer, only a GTX 970. I can use this drivers? I ll have a better performance?

Got some error here

I’m having the same problem.
I’m running a 5500XT
16GB ram
win 10
i7-7700
HTC-Vive

my problem begins in Pavlov, not I don’t think it is Pavlov because A: the same issue is being described in multiple games online. B: I’ve played and had Pavlov and other VR games for about a year-ish now. I’ve tried going into steam and verifying filed, win 10 is updated along with my drivers, reinstalling the game, and all its add-ons, installing, deleting, then reinstalling again Unreal engine in Epic. the exact message for me (I’ve had multiple but I took a picture of this one, also this is all typed)

The UE4-Pavlov Game has crashed and will close

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line:200]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error:

Any help will be greatly appreciated and welcomed. also, apparently, this has been an issue for a VERY long time. I am somewhat tech savvy but I do not know Unreal. (maybe not Pavlov errors but the main error stuff)

Thanks
