Unreal Engine 5.2.1 – Viewport glitch & mouse cursor disappears (GTX 1650, Windows 11)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a strange viewport glitch in Unreal Engine 5.2.1, and it happens even in a blank project.

Issue description:

  • When I open a project, everything looks normal at first

  • After a few seconds, the mouse cursor disappears from the viewport

  • A weird visual glitch / distortion appears in the viewport

  • The glitch becomes visible when:

    • I hover the mouse over the top navigation bar

    • I hover over objects in the World Outliner

  • If I resize the Unreal window, the mouse cursor becomes visible again, but the glitch still remains

  • This happens even without Lumen/Nanite and in a blank project

System details:

  • Unreal Engine: 5.2.1

  • OS: Windows 11

  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 (4GB, laptop)

  • Driver: NVIDIA Studio Driver 536.67

  • Hybrid GPU system (Intel + NVIDIA)

I suspect this might be related to:

  • Hybrid GPU (Optimus)

  • Viewport resize / fullscreen / swapchain issue

  • Driver or Windows 11 compatibility problem

Has anyone faced a similar issue or found a proper fix?
Any help or guidance would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance :folded_hands:

If you want, I can also:

  • Make a shorter Discord version

  • Rewrite it for Epic Developer Community

  • Add steps to reproduce format (Epic likes that)

Just tell me :+1:

Hi @Enjoy0099 ,

There was the same on Unreal Engine Fortnite (UEFN)

This driver fixed the problem of the old driver on UEFN, so it should fix yours
