Unreal Engine 5.1 release date

I would much prefer that they release a more polished product than to rush it, honestly. The 5.1 previews seem to have had a lot of issues, some even with existing systems…so I’m happy for them to release it when it’s done. We get too many half-finished buggy releases in all software these days. Just do it right and then let us have it when it’s ready.

Well you have it already installed, did you activate it in the plugins tab inside the editor?

Yeah i activate the plugin set the bone rotations in the options for the skeleton but when i go to move the file into unreal from daz3d it’s like its not reading the file location and giving me a qtcore4 dll error.
I have checked all my file locations for plugins in both editors, i have made sure all versions are the same from the daz install manager to the version of unreal.
I have tried installing the plugin via the daz3d side when you go to export the file it installs but when trying to export file to unreal it fails file access violation error qtcore dll error and fails to port the skeleton or static prop.
I have even tried moving the DTU file manually into Unreal and it will only read portion of the contents when unpacking the dtu file for some reason so the only thing i can get to port into unreal is the base model for gen 8 without hair or props because it fails to convert the DTU files that were packed by daz3d when it should.

I tried re installing the unreal editor on different drives same result with every setup.
I never had an issue using the bridge in 4.26 and 4.27 but since the release of 5 nothing has worked.
The only things i can get to work is old projects that i have converted from 4.27 to 5 but they now have some issue with animations because they use older 4 mannequins and can’t be retargeted to 5 without animation issues
If i aim the export directory to a file in the project that i have the most recent plugin installed too this is what happens…

It asks me to import files as daz3d crashes because it had finished exporting the DTU & FBX files.
Then you can start importing which half the window for the import settings is sitting outside my window frame because the wonderful layout setup they give us to work with doesn’t display all information correctly, so you can see half the options when the import comes up in the corner, then you get to allocating a data table? if i choose dazblendshapes it fails to add in the files correctly anyway so what option am i selecting for that Data Table here when importing files for daz3d?

Hi everyone, does anyone know how to convert UE 5.0.3 file with datasmith twinmotion assets to UE 5.1?

Yep and no update to the Daz3D bridge so it again fails to work with this version.

Oh I don’t usually use Daz3d Bridge anyways of it. But for you, I hope this gets more fixed soon on 5.1. But don’t forget, They just released it. And There all of the others stuff like the plug-ins from the marketplace, it’s gonna take awhile for them to be compatible to the newest released of 5.1. So just be patient as possible :+1:t5:

I have basically now setup in Unity & find every version update of the Unity engine doesn’t break the bridge I need working, it’s a pity I won’t be basing my main projects now in Unreal because every version just doesn’t support bridges or older projects very well.

Unreal & Unity both have advantages and disadvantages but i find the biggest drawback to Unreal is the version noncompliance & incompatibility with plugins and older project files.
