Unreal Engine 5.1 release date

I just really hope it releases soon because I really need the Lumen improved reflection especially on translucent objects. Using Ray Traced Translucency is too performance expensive and most of the time very buggy. I get no shadows when the max ray traced are higher than 2 for some reason. I also do have a 2060 RTX so I’m not sure whether I need a newer RTX graphic card or what.

Yes, same here. I hope they release soon, I’m waiting on the Lumen improvements and hoping some VSM problems get solved too. I have a couple of scenes waiting for the release.

Ah! You just have to click in the little arrow of an uninstalled version and it will show up :slight_smile:

Hi,I upgraded to version 5.0.3 on unreal engine 4. There are known issues with the graphics driver. My Unreal 4 did not have the problem.

This makes sense why the current version doesn’t work really well when it comes to supporting bridges to other editors nor does it retarget & animate well like previous versions in 4 naming 4.27 & 4.26 as the better versions that had compatibility with bridges & the skeletons & textures for retargeting to UE mannequins which is the most needed thing really in any editor.
People want to add in their own content quickly & easily to premade templates that have working game functions & mechanics.

Most products here offer bit’s and piece’s but hardly any offer any good templates that combine the needed functions you most want in certain platforms. Example third person templates offer little in the way of learning game production as there is little to no content in them to learn from.
Personally, i like a structure that is proven to work to learn from not something half created that i don’t know how to complete because I’m new to game production! I see very little offered on the market to people who want a complete game framework to learn from, one that allows players to easily adjust features or point them to what needs doing in some way particular to that control system or function in the editor.

So 5.1 will be a different engine install all together ?

In case anyone wants to know, the unreal engine 5.1 final release will be around in the next month beginning month of November. But they haven’t confirmed of any date on that month. So I’m just guessing it’s like around between either the first day of November. Or Probably November 5th. Again, just guessing an early hint for it. But keep a reminder, The final release of 5.1 is on the next month of November :+1:t5:

So, this month you think? I heard December for a release date but would be nice to get full release this month of 5.1, I just hope they fix any issue with the Daz3d to Unreal bridge as some problem has been stopping me porting my assets from the Daz3d editor into Unreal since 5 was launched, there are also some issues animating the gen 8 & 3 skeletons in 5.0.3 so i hope 5.1 will fix this issues up, as it is i can only use Unity to bridge my Daz3d stuff lately because of this issue with Unreal which really needs to be fixed as i have tried all solutions to find a fix but nothing has worked in Unreal 5 where most stuff worked in 4.27 when exporting from Daz3d.
They sold a version to a Daz3d plugin specifically installed to each engine version and it has stopped working correctly for all versions, do I get my money back in a refund if this bridge if it continues not to work correctly as I have shown in other posts.
Like most developers we rely on bridges they connect to Unreal to move assets between them for editing, if my bridges are not working it makes the whole editor useless too me as it cuts out a large portion of my asset content.

Oh trust me buddy. I’ve been having some few issues as well with just the material glitches that the textures are not showing with the base color on 5.0.3. It’s just ridiculous. But not to worry. I have watch the unreal engine opening session presentation that they had up on they’re YouTube channel. And one of the employee’s had said, they’ll be releasing the 5.1 version around in November. @Cenobite69 oh and also, if I was you, I would just play around in Roblox Studio for now until whenever what date, or week they’ll release 5.1 on this November soon

Yeah would be nice to just have a version that works with the bridge i paid for.



This plugin costs 68 dollars in my currency i paid for it too work in all versions of the editor and it doesn’t in any, i could understand if it was just a free asset but this wasn’t i just hope it will work in 5.1 because its not in 5.0.3 or any other version now because of some QTcore4 dll error which never happened before, and my version of daz3d is fine because everything bridges into Unity perfectly but i do not wish to use Unity as i have most my content in Unreal and prefer to use Unreal for my projects.
