unreal engine 5.1.1 Weird artifacts with ray traced shadows enabled with AMD CARD rx 6900xt

Hello, I recently upgraded my graphics card from a Rtx 2060 Super to an rx 6900xt, and I have been facing problems with the engine.

  • All materials or static mesh thumbnails are in white.
  • If I used rectangular or directional lights, fireflies would appear everywhere until I turned off the light ray-traced traced shadow
  • If I open materials or static mesh, the preview appears in red and green colors with too
    much fireflies

i have the latest drivers installed.
I am using Windows 10 , and DirectX 12

The same happens if i open an old project or create a new one.
Note that I didn’t face any of these issues when I had the old card.



Hey @IITHEBOOMERII!

This looks to be an ongoing issue with AMD cards and Lumen. Are you using Virtual Shadow Maps? Have you tried disabling those?

when iam using directx 11 instead it works , i think the main issue is related to SM6 because SM5 with directx 11 works fine

after updating to version UE 5.2 all artifacts gone and it works perfectly
