I just tried to install to my second laptop and I can’t, because the core components item is disabled and not marked. I tried to install UE4, but exact, the same error. From what I noticed, it’s from Epic Games Launcher. Please fix it, asap, because I really need it and it’s not only about me. There are a lot of other users that will be shocked because they cannot install UE4 / .
I finally managed to install , after a fresh reinstall of the Launcher, but the core components item is still disabled & unmarked.
This is a Mac oddity only. After updating to 5.0.3 from 5.0.2, projects can no longer be opened from the Launcher project list or by double clicking the uproject file. The only way I can open any projects now is to Launch a vanilla 5.0.3 from the Launcher and then select the project to open from the Recent Projects list.
The problem seems to be with Apple’s Allow/Deny (for incoming network connections) dialog coming up and then disappearing prior to being answered. If started by first launching 5.0.3 then selecting the project, the dialog can be answered and the project loads.
Messed with allowing the two .apps that could potentially be involved in the Apple firewall, but it has no effect. The allow/deny issue may just be a symptom of some other problem in launching from the uproject file.
Just an irritant, not critical. If someone else has this, just launch unreal without a project from the Launcher and you’ll be able to open your project.
Do you have ‘Starter Content’ and ‘Templates and Feature Packs’ ticked in Install Options?
Yes! I just noticed it. It’s so strange, because I’m trying to compile the C++ code from Visual Studio by building the project, but the result is “Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed”. I also installed dotnet-sdk-3.1.409-win-x64.
Been running into issues trying to compile 5.0.3/current on *Nix. Keep getting an error that Nuget is timing out “The HTTP request to ‘GET https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json’ has timed out after 100000ms.” during the CreateProjectFiles.sh after running Setup.sh successfully. Tried on Ubuntu 20.04 + 22.04.4 and CENTOS 7, same error each time. Trying 22.04 (non-.4) if that fails, will try to back up to 5.0.2, etc.
have you managed to get this error resolved? and how?
hi @Goldenzero123 , in the end I uninstalled the Epic Launcher and Unreal 5.0.X
Then installed a new copy of Epic Launcher and now installed a fresh copy of 5.0.3 and everything is fixed
The only change was This is now on C: the not D:.
All the templates are in place for all the groups Architect, Film etc
Thank u for the quick response. I will try that and see if it resolves the lroblem.
Well this worked! really weird what kind of errors arise. but luckily we have great people in this community to help

i am asking them 3 month to fix this bug in forum or bug report!
but nothing happened!
There is a bug in that greatly reduces the precision of actor transforms. I have reported this bug but just in case ill post here as well. It affects all versions of even -main.
The test project is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10HnvQQh9Z1M6QZ_bsf1CyHTLRwnLitC4/view?usp=sharing
This is what to look for:
And here is a video demonstrating it (the movement of the dark mesh is not smooth it moves in small increments):
I would really like to know if this is a known issue and if it is planed to be fixed or not. Please someone from the forums staff if you can find this out, it would help me a lot with planning things for my project. My project can not move to because of this. :(. I was hoping to move with .1 but current main still has it so…
When I heard about 64 bit coordinates I was thrilled but it turns out some things are MUCH worse than they were with 32bit ones.
Shipping Builds of 5.03 are Crashing CONSTANTLY!! We need the 5.1 update with hopefully a Huge number of Fixes, IMMEDIATELY!!
