This issue has only been occurring for me in the last week or so. Before that it was working perfectly.
In the UEFN Editor window it is stuttering every 1 second.
I’m displaying the framerate which seems to drop every second and then climb back up to 60.
I’ve enabled streaming turned my scalability settings to the minimum on every setting, turned the editor to unlit. I’ve tried it in a new project which is almost empty and I’ve uninstalled Fortnite, UEFN, and The Epic Games launcher and reinstalled fresh.
Still it’s stuttering.
I even uninstalled Unreal Engine in case that made a difference. It didn’t.
My computer specs are as follows.
OS: Windows 11
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz (12 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 16GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (4GB VRAM)
Maybe my Intel processor isn’t good enough?
Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot this issue?
@ninjachippie Thank you for your report! We would like to look into this further, would you be able to submit a bug report using the form available here: Fortnite Creative
If you’re experiencing stuttering or lag in the UEFN Editor window, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
System resources: Check if your computer has enough resources to handle the UEFN Editor smoothly. Make sure you have sufficient RAM, CPU power, and disk space available. Close any unnecessary programs running in the background that might be consuming resources.
Graphics drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause performance issues in graphical applications. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer to download and install the latest drivers.
Internet connection: If the UEFN Editor requires an internet connection, check if your connection is stable and fast enough. A slow or unreliable internet connection can lead to lag or stuttering in online applications. Try restarting your router or connecting to a different network if possible.
Clear cache and temporary files: Clearing the cache and temporary files of the UEFN Editor may help resolve performance issues. Look for options within the editor to clear cache or temporary files, or try reinstalling the editor if necessary.
Hardware acceleration: Experiment with enabling or disabling hardware acceleration in the UEFN Editor settings.
Yessss. I’m back to a steady 120fps.
The action that worked for me in particular was clearing the Epic Games Launcher cache.
Thank you @carolyn_wenzz for the tips.
@Stevie-Moon I won’t create that bug report since the problem is solved.
