Unity GDC demo - Adam - Part I

ok i’ve deleted all my post’s… why?

because i was a naughty boy.

hmm still no assets available from the adam video… hmmmmmmmmm I wonder why lol Volumetric lighting? hmm what happened to that? no one from unity talking about it anymore. oh and what a surprise there’s now that same effect been released on the asset store from a dev that’s never released an asset before. Maybe this guy is the same person that made that effect in the adam video and is now selling it on the asset store… maybe…

also unity is talking a lot a post and you can download betas from github but the volumetric lighting is no where to be seen. and no mention of it too.
what a surprise lol unity wont give this out for free. so the question is does unity support those features seen in the demo. the correct answer is NO.

does unreal support those features in the demo. the correct answer is YES.

I guess, many aspects of the demo was hacked like previous demos and not usable with Unity pipeline.

If it was a custom build of their engine then I guess they would be hesitant to put in the work to make it available in a way that works for the average Unity user. Considering they’re still hiding their engine source.

It takes Epic a while to get a demo source available so it’s probably the same case for them.

Today there was a session at Unite LA for making Adam like scenes and later they released the demo and assets.
