Greetings. In the viewport I use the navigation tools for panning and zooming and tilting the camera views. However, from clicking in the view port I frequently end up selecting an object and have to hit “escape” key to unselect. Does anyone know how to lessen inadvertently selecting objects when clicking and using the option keys for camera movement? I saw where you can lock the position of objects; but that didn’t prevent from them being selected. Thanks in advance.
If you select something accidentally, you can use CTRL-Z to unselect it, but keep everything else you had selected before that.
Thank you for CTRL-Z move. I’ll try it. I’ll try it. But I’m still looking for something like in Maya where you can put objects on a layer or assign a state in which they can be viewed; but not selected. Again, thank you, ClockworkOcean.
Ah… you should have said… Take a look at layers:
Sorry for delay in responding, ClockworkOcean… I did look at the layers, but even that feature doesn’t let me “lock” or template the objects to prevent them from being selected. But thanks for reminding me that UE has layers. I just want to keep from selecting objects when panning and moving the camera around. In doing so, I inadvertently, either select any object or my “right click” brings up the context menu for an object. I haven’t figured it out yet… but again thanks for info and advice.
