I was editing a map, took a break off of it, closed Unreal Editor for Fortnite normally. Then when i launched it back up 30 minutes later, crashed every time during the launch
Steps to Reproduce
open up epic games launcher run as administrator , quick launch Unreal Editor for Fortnite, Few seconds later error pops up
Expected Result
Be able to load up Unreal Editor for Fortnite without further issue or loss to projects
A path for fixing this crash is to reset all local user and editor settings.
Disclaimer: While this will stop the editor from crashing and preserve all of your core project data, you will lose any local editor customizations and settings youâve made (such as the layout of editor windows) and some data cached for your convenience (such as your project panel being sorted by most recently accessed) will be reset.
If youâd like to proceed with this path, please take the following steps:
Open Windows File Explorer
Paste C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite\ into the address bar and replace â[USERNAME]â with your windows account username
Press âEnterâ to navigate to the folder
Create a zipped copy of this folder to your desktop to back it up (just in case of any issues)
After the backup is complete, delete the contents of the folder
