UE v5.0.3
I set up my Quest 2, and plugged it into my laptop. Then wear Quest 2, go through the steps, no issues so far.
Then I launch UE with the headset off, launch the UE VR template, ensure Oculus plugins are enabled. Then hit Play (Alt+P) from my PC and wear the headset, but then im stuck on the floor where the default player spawn is.
I then closed UE, tried wearing the Quest already, using Monitor 2 where Unreal is, hit Play only to have the same effect. And again using Add Desktop Panel and selecting UE.
I started the template project by launching UE first above all else and my Play button was already green but I think it’s supposed to be greyed out first? following this Creating AR and VR Projects with Unreal Engine | Webinar - YouTube at 5:13
In Editor Preferences → General → VR Mode, Enable VR Mode Auto-Entry is enabled.
Perhaps I’m missing something. Any suggestions would be great. Cheers!
Make sure you’re pressing the VR play button, also if you have your headset in sleep mode or away from you head and you start the game, its most likely saying that you don’t have a headset on, and setting you up as if you weren’t wearing one.(this can happen because the code to check for headset is set up on a beginplay) I just go to desktop view inside of the oculus link and hit the vr play button inside the oculus. Make sure the default Eye Height on your vr pawn is also set to Floor
Oh there is a separate VR play button? Where would that be?
I’ve placed the Player Start on the floor and set Input=Player 0,Input Priority=0 from the Details panel.
BUT when I click it in Quest and on desktop, the screen flashes, and a window pops up for a split second only to close itself immediately. Not sure what the issue is this time, any idea?
I had just wrote a long response on how I didn’t have pictures Lol. I was about to send and feel bad, and you came back in the middle Cracking up right now.
Hahaha cheers for the quick response mate. After closing and opening, i can finally preview the game, albeit buggy with movement initially which was resolved with another close and open. Ill poke around and find a way to have it more consistent, thanks for showing me the Play in VR button! Cheers
