Unable to package for Windows(x64) (4.7pre4)

Hi everyone,

I have been having serious issues packaging my project for Windows 64-bit, using UE4 v4.7 preview 4. Whenever I try to package my project, it displays “Packaging Project… (etc)” for about a minute, but then the message switches to “Package failed!”. I have surfed around the and answerhub, but I wasn’t able to find a concrete solution that applied to my problem. I have included the tail-end of my output log (the whole thing was too big to paste).

It might be helpful to note that I am basing my project off of the assets included in the TP_BPFirstPersonRift project, and attempting to package it so that I may do testing with the Oculus Rift. I can confirm that I am able to package the base TP_BPFirstPersonRift project, which is using UE4 v4.5.

Due to a bug in 4.6, I was forced to use the 4.7 previews to design my project. I understand that it is not advisable to use preview versions for product development, but I didn’t really have a choice considering 4.6 was unusable for my purposes. I would be open to backdating my project to 4.5 and trying that, however I do not know how to do that (as I am unable to open it using v4.5).

Does anyone have any advice or solutions?
If you have any questions, I would be happy to assist. Thanks in advance!

Hi IsoVirtual_Chris,

Were you eventually able to get your project to package out UE4.7? If so, what did you do to get it to work? If not, please let us know and we will try to assist you. Looking at your logs, it looks as though not all of your packages were completely loading, thus causing the editor to fail to package your project -but that is a quick, offhand assessment.

Either way, let us know the current state of your project.

Thannks,

.
